Horsham manager Simon Colbran told his side they needed to be more creative going forward during their 1-0 defeat at home to Burgess Hill.
The Hornets’ Sussex rivals scored the winner in the 55th minute when Pat Harding took advatange of a mistake by Matt Simpson and netted from outside the area.
In a quiet Horsham display, the closest they came to scoring was when Billy Medlock narrowly missed the target on 32 minutes having been put through by James Brockhurst.
Colbran said: “We gifted them a goal and made a mistake. But we worked hard, We kept our shape well and it wasn’t a lack of enthusiasm or not giving 100 percent.
“We just didn’t create enough chances, it was as simple as that. We didn’t go forward enough, didn’t gamble enough.
“We kept the ball nicely enough to no effect. Wayne Clarke did reasonably well but could have made more attacking runs.”
