HORSHAM YMCA boss Sammy Donnelly said he should shoulder the blame for his side’s 2-1 defeat at ten man Ringmer in the Sussex County League on Saturday.
Two goals in the last 15 minutes stole the points away from Donnelly’s men, and the manager felt the pain as keenly as anyone after being denied a second straight win.
YM had led through Dan Sullivan’s strike, and Donnelly wishes he had changed the gameplan in the closing stages.
He said: “After analysing the game on Saturday, I blame myself.
“I think in hindsight we should have got more people behind the ball and saturated it. We let in two poor goals. Perhaps we should have got as many bodies back as we could. I should have put one up front and tried to see it out. Whether we still would have lost nobody knows, I do feel to blame.”
