Premier Division - West Chiltington had to twice come from behind to earn a point in a 2-2 draw at Watersfield in a disappointing game.

The hosts enjoyed the better of a scrappy affair and twice took the lead but were pegged back by goals from Craig Dawson and Craig Pulling. The point keeps Chilt in third place.

Division 1

Cowfold Reserves eventually broke down a stubborn Clymping Reserves with all three goals in a 3-0 home win. From start to finish it looked like there would be only one winner with Cowfold completely dominating possession. Fold had a strong penalty shout turned down when striker Brad Carter was bundled over in the Clymping box. They did get a penalty on the hour when Ali Harvey was brought down but Chris Bellison’s spot kick was saved. Finally on 76 minutes the breakthrough came when Phil Marshall rose to head in Harvey’s free kick and Brad Carter doubled their lead, turning in Harry Revell’s driven cross. And Fold killed the game off with another header from man of the match Marshall, this time from Nathan Kerridge’s scooped pass. Fold: Morely-Smith, Brabon, Leach, Harvey, Passfield, Bray, Bellison, Hatton, Carter, Marshall, Lancastle. Subs used: Revell, Nash, Kerridge.

Barns Green gained revenge over Pulborough for a recent cup defeat by beating their local rivals in their league fixture.

Green started on the front foot and took the lead when a great run and cross by Jack Pestridge was headed home by Henry Liley after two minutes.

The match threatened to simmer over many times as the tackling became fierce but the game continued to flow. Ryan Brown was put clean through only to be thwarted by the Boro keeper while Jay Dumbrill in the Green goal was kept busy and pulled off two magnificent saves. The second half was as competitive as the first with the ref kept busy. New Green signing Mike Brownlee was industrious in midfield and the Barns Green’s back line of Pestridge, Bacon, Dawson and Walker were resolute throughout. Stevie Blick was unlucky not to double the lead and Brown was once again denied by the Boro keeper. Green withstood six minutes of injury time to take home a well earned three points with a 1-0 win.

Division 2 North

Billingshurst Reserves ended Alfold’s unbeaten start with a well-deserved 3-1 victory over their local rivals in Division 2 North.

The opening 20 minutes was all Billingshurst as the visitors cut through the midfield and raided down the wings, and they were rewarded with the opening goal.

Hurst scored again in the 15th minute when they broke from defending a corner and a shot deflected off Goodway and into his own net for a 2-0 lead at half time.

The second half was more even, although Alfold’s keeper Liam Lindsay was the busier of the two stoppers.

Alfold did pull one back late in the game when Jamie Hopkins fed Saunders to make it 2-1, but that was soon cancelled out by Chris Osbourne’s long-range screamer.

Worthing&Horsham Sunday League

Division 1

One down in the first minute was not the ideal start for Ajax Kings Arms against Battle FC, but when Chris Osborne equalised from 20 yards there was a glimmer of hope. However this just masked the embarrassment that was to follow and the words needed to describe the outcome would make even readers of 50 Shades of Grey blush as Ajax went down to a 9-1 defeat. Ajax are bottom of Division 1 on goal difference with not even their five letter advantage over Angmering counting for anything now.
