‘We need to learn to play another way’

Simon Colbran says his Horsham side need to develop a Plan B if they are to have more success on their travels.
The 2-1 defeat at Herne Bay on Saturday came despite the visiting Hornets taking a 50th minute lead through Ryan Marriott.
Colbran was disappointed with his side for not killing the game off, especially after dominating the first half, and the result means Horsham are still without a league win away from home since August last year.
“We scored the goal and I thought we had the job done, but then there came a silly ten minutes,” Colbran said. “Instead of slowing things down and killing the game off, we continued at 100 miles per hour and made some silly challenges which we didn’t need to make.
“We have got to learn to play another way. We only seem to be able to attack, attack, attack but we have to learn when to consolidate and play a different way, even if it’s not always pretty.
“But we are learning all the time and I hope we’ve learned from this game in time for Tuesday.”
Colbran takes his troops to Hythe Town tomorrow night for another away Ryman South fixture.
