Swans make cup progress but see injuries mount up

Storrington continued their cup success with a 2-0 home win over Seaford Town to make Sussex Senior Cup progress.

Goals in either half from Lewis Levoi and Marcus Robershaw put Swans into Round 2, although this being their fifth game in two weeks injuries are starting to mount up.

Manager Nigel Dyer said: “That’s two wins and two clean sheets so we are looking better. Injuries are adding up now and (I’m) glad we do not have another mid-week game this week.”

Injuries and unavailabilities meant Dyer had to shuffle his pack, and with so many changes they took a while to settle and had Matt Chester to thank - along with Seaford’s poor finishing - for not going behind.

Having weathered the storm Robershaw and Levoi linked up well for the latter to find the bottom corner, and Robertshaw went close from a one on one chance before the break.

Swans didn’t take long after the restart to get a second, Liam Humphreys playing in Robertshaw who calmly made it 2-0

Iain Jarvie saw one cleared off the line before Chris Watton was sent off as Swans survived on the break.

Swans: Chester; Bardouleau, Setchell, Jarvie, Watton, Pickford, Davis, Humprheys, Robertshaw, Levoi, Church, Jearum, Rhodie, Johnson.
