Storrington hit five in entertaining win
Storrington's Liam Humphreys
Two goals each from Iain Jarvie and Liam Humphreys saw Storrington claim the spoils at Midhurst in Sussex County League Division 2.
The Swans looked potent up front and Marcus Robertshaw set them on their way when the Midhurst defence misjudged a huge Matt Chester drop-kick.
Midhurst levelled though, when Azare pounced on a Sam Elliott error for a simple finish.
A scrappy spell followed, but when Chris Watton picked-out Jarvie on the right, the Storrington man drove into the box and applied a clinical finish to restore the lead.
Now Nigel Dyer’s men seized control, and with early substitute Humphreys pulling the strings, they made it 3-1 when he beat two men and cut the ball back for Jarvie to finish.
Midhurst struggled to get out of their own half now, and the pressure told shortly before the break, when Humphreys met a Will Conway corner for the Swans’ fourth
Dyer urged his men not to be complacent in the second half, and after a couple of vital Chester saves, Humphreys completed his brace with a well-placed lob.
Midhurst plugged away though, and although it was no more than a consolation, Sheldrick fired home after a neat turn.
Storrington: Chester, Davis, Setchell, Elliott, Pickford, Conway, Jarvie, Watton, Robertshaw (Humphreys), Warner, Rhodie.
