Storrington draw a blank in defeat
Storrington in action against Seaford last weekend
Storrington were left frustrated by their 3-0 defeat to Newhaven on Saturday.
Beaten 6-1 earlier in the season, the Swans were hoping to give a better account of themselves at the weekend, but were unable to make the most of several promising moments.
Newhaven took the lead in the 27th minute, when Lee Robertson fired home soon after being denied by debutant keeper Eric Barratt’s fingertip save. The Swans responded well and enjoyed the majority of possession in the second half, but lacked the guile to unlock the Newhaven defence.
Mark Probert doubled the Dockers’ lead with eight minutes to play and Robinson completed his brace to make sure of the points in the final minute.
Manager Nigel Dyer said: “A better performance then earlier on in the season, but we need to start putting more of our chances away and turn performances into draws and wins. We never seem to have the bit of something special to finish our good work off.”
