Roffey FC ‘surprised’ at cup progress
Roffey FC will push for Sussex Intermediate Cup glory, after their ‘surprise’ march into the fourth round.
The Horsham-based County League Division 3 side required penalties to beat Portslade Athletic on Saturday and advance to the last-16, and coach Graham Powell says now they are there, they might as well go for silverware.
He said: “We went out at the first hurdle of every cup competition last year, so it has been a nice surprise to remain in the cups. Now we are in the fourth round, you start to think it’s cup football. with a bit of luck you never know. It’s added that bit of extra interest, it’s good for the dressing room and the training ground.”
