Billy Medlock believes he can be the goalscorer Horsham FC have been missing.

Pat Harding was the last man to score more than 20 goals in a season during the 2009/10 campaign. But following his first Horsham hat-trick on Saturday Medlock feels there is a lot more to come.

“That’s all I look to do, score goals and help the team out so if I can keep scoring goals myself I’ll be happy and if we can win that’s the main aim.” Medlock struggled early on in the season having arrived from Eastbourne Borough lacking fitness, but Saturday’s three-goal haul brought his tally for the season to ten. “I wasn’t used to playing week in week out, but obviously now I’m down at Horsham in a settled team, playing every week and we’re starting to win now which is good.”

Five of his goals have come from free kicks, including another stunner against Three Bridges, although the player says he hardly practices them. And his manager Simon Colbran backed him to keep banging in the goals when he said: “He’ll score mid 20s, maybe 25 this season as he does every year and that’s why we got him in.”
