Crawley Town defender Jon Ashton has joined National League side Braintree Town.
Reds’ head coach Dermot Drummy revealed the experienced defender has left Crawley.
The Crawley boss said: “He has gone to Braintree two weeks ago.”
Former Stevenage centre-back Ashton, 33, made 30 appearances for Crawley last season, four from the bench, but was out of contract at the end of the campaign.
However he did begin pre-season training at the Crawley before heading to the Essex club two weeks ago.
Braintree have not announced the move and it is not known if he has signed a contract.
