Mark Yates has admitted his use of the loan system has been a big part in helping strengthen the team.

Speaking to the club’s website he said: “We’ve got five loans at the minute. They’ve always been a massive help to us. One or two have been slightly better than a couple of others. They’ve come in and have been brilliant.

“They are all young lads who are trying to improve themselves for different reasons. Rhys Murphy is trying to show Oldham what he can do and we are really pleased he has contributed seven goals and linked up well with Matty Harrold in particular.”
