Dorren takes on the world's elite
MOTOCROSS rider Dorren Coutts had a taste of the big time at the weekend when given a wild card ride in the World Motocross MX1 Championships British Grand Prix.
Broadbridge Heath-based Dorren was accepted to race at the Mallory Park meeting at the weekend, after his application was approved by officials.
Dorren, who races in the Maxxis MX1 British motocross championship, had impressed enough with his displays to be given the wild card.
Racing alongside some of the sport's biggest names including Antonio Cairoli, Joshua Coppins and Clement Desalle was an experience not to forget.
"The standard of machinery was so impressive," Dorren remarked. "For me it was like entering a Moto GP race on a standard road bike. That was the situation, we were there with one van and two bikes."
