Roffey seconds beat Hastings in the Gray Nicholls T20 final

Teenager Ollie Rivers reproduced his semi-final heroics to send Roffey Seconds on the path to their first T20 Cup triumph over Hastings on Bank Holiday Monday.

The 16 year old seamer bowled superbly to take 5-10 from just 3.6 overs and was the architect of a Hastings collapse from 81-1 to 117 all out.

And it was a below par total which hosts Roffey had little trouble chasing down in front of their own crowd, openers Max Rivers with 46 and Mark Pavlovic 38 as Roffey Seconds celebrated a first T20 Cup success.

A full match report will be in this Thursday’s West Sussex County Times, and keep checking the website for a video of the final, including an interview with a delighted captain Simon Shivnariain and man of the match Ollie Rivers.
