Young cricketers helped by county stars

FCCC cricket academy

FCCC cricket academy

County cricket stars Andy Hodd and Will Adkin are providing their support to a revolutionary programme aimed at unearthing a new generation of young talent in the Horsham district.

Yorkshire and Horsham wicketkeeper Hodd and Sussex all-rounder Adkin have been passing on their skills and experience to youngsters at the Handcross-based First Class Cricket Coaching academy.

The pair teamed up with the academy’s other ex-professional cricketers and resident coaches to launch the initiative.

FCCC has been offering free sessions to promising youngsters, especially to those families who are unable to afford access to high-quality coaching. FCCC co-founder Raj Chaudhuri said: “. We recognise that not everyone is in a position, financially, to pay for the high standards of coaching needed to improve their game. We didn’t want those kids to miss out.

“They have loved every minute, while Hoddy and Will have been a great addition to our coaching team.

“We want to continue with our plans but we need sponsorship from the business community to do so. The last thing we want is to miss out on a potential county or even England star.”

Anyone interested in teaming up with FCCC should contact them at www.letsplaycricket.co.uk
