Horsham skipper Craig Gallagher said his side allowed Three Bridges to get too many runs in their innings despite a great start which saw them struggling at 44-5.

Eventually the newly promoted visitors recovered to score 184 runs thanks to a heroic 72 by their New Zealand overseas player Victor Davies.

Newcomer Stuart Whittingham made a supoerb debut since joining from Roffey and helped forge the early advantage by taking 4-42.

Will Beer took 3-37 and Kamau Leverock grabbed 2-37 for Horsham.

In their reply, Beer (31) combined with Sam Attfield (20) for a third-wicket partnership of 43. Bermudan Leverock looked an attacking threat with 33 off 27 balls. However they were rocked by the fast bowling of Bridges’ Davies who followed up his topscore with the bat to take 4-28.

Horsham ended up all out for 153, 31 runs short of their target and with two overs remaining.

Gallagher praised Whittington and Leverock for their bowling displays.
