Sussex v Notts Day 3 morning session - play to resume at 3.10pm

RAIN has delayed the start of play on day three at Horsham.

Notts batsmen are warming up, the crease is being painted on the wicket, some action could be just round the corner....play to resume at 3.10pm

There is to be another inspection at 2.30pm, the wet outfield being a cause for concern.

Providing there's no more rain, an inspection will be carried out at 2pm.

1.20pm - We're staring to see some movement around the covers, a solitary volunteer removing the drainage pipes which keep water off the square and the blotter is doing some mopping up. Not a drop of rain in the last 40 minutes. Promising signs, but we're told the umpires 'are in no hurry'.

12.55pm - The rain has stopped and the ground staff appear to have been mobilised.......Umpires Peter Hartley and Richard Illingworth have just had a stroll around the outfield, the covers remained ntouched however

12.30pm - Getting marginally brighter, but the wet stuff continues to fall.....

11.40 - Rain is getting heavier here, but at least the corporate tents are buzzing

A pitch inspection was due at 10.55 but due to the constant drizzle, the Cricketfield Road wicket remains firmly under the covers.

When play gets underway, Nottinghamshire will resume on 231-2.
