Southwater captain Alex Harding believes his side may have to think again about their bid for the West Sussex Invitation League crown.
Tipped as contenders for the title, Southwater have already slipped 40 points behind leaders Crawley Eagles, to whom they lost on Saturday. A big hitting innings from Eagles’ Hameid Raiz (pictured)dominated the Southwater attack as they lost by 141 runs. Harding said: “ It happened against Portslade a couple of weeks ago and happened again that we were beaten by one player. They have some good bowlers too, but we had a chance of batting it out.
“Eagles are definitely the strongest team we have played against this year.
“Maybe we have to reassess what we think we can get and how we look at it.”
