SOUTHWATER CC captain Alex Harding is happy to make all the early running in the West Sussex Invitation League.
Harding’s side top the early Division 1 table after two successive wins, and the contenders are already starting to become clear with perennial title-candidates Crawley Eagles also moving into position.
A 93-run partnership between Nick Baker and Andy Carvell proved the difference on Saturday as Southwater beat East Preston by 19 runs. Harding said: “I hope we can stay there, that’s where we want to be and we certainly do not want to move from there.
“Crawley Eagles are already up there, but if we keep doing what we are doing we will be ok. I would much rather be where we are than down in mid-table.”
