PULBOROUGH are aiming as high as possible this season, their first in cricket’s Sussex Premier League.
Promoted last year as runners up to Division 2 winners Roffey, Boro will again be skippered by Rohit Jagota and have retained the services of overseas player Kuldeep Rawat, who took 45 wickets last term, at a fraction over 18 runs each.
And Jagota believes just aiming to stay in the division would be a mistake.
“We are all looking forward to it,” he said. “Everyone knows it will be a big step up, but all the players are excited.
“We know every match in the Premier League will be very tough, we are going to come up against professional players in almost every game, but it will be a good season.
“It will be important for us to get early points on the board. We are looking to do well in the Premier League. If we are looking to just survive, we will not survive.”
