ENGLAND fast bowler Amjad Khan could be set to make his Sussex CCC debut as the LV County Championship gets underway tomorrow morning.

Division 2 Champions are back in the top flight this year and their first fixture is a trip to Liverpool to take on Lancashire.

Three players could potentially make their first competitive appearance for Sussex. Fast bowler Khan, signed from Kent in the winter is included in the squad whilst all-rounder Kirk Wernars and left-arm seamer Naveed Arif Gondal could debut for the County.

Luke Wells made his first-class debut in the final game of last season’s Division Two Championship winning campaign at Worcestershire, and Rana Naved-ul-Hasan is welcomed back as overseas player for the first half of the season. Murray Goodwin will captain the side in the absence of Michael Yardy.
