HORSHAM fans hoping for a repeat of Chris Nash’s brilliant century in last year’s Cricket Festival will be disappointed with him set to miss out when Sussex return to Cricketfield Road in two weeks time.
The former Horsham colt, who hit an outstanding 156 runs at last year’s festival win over Derbyshire, will be unavailable for Sussex as he has been called up to the England Lions team to play against Sri Lanka A at Worcester and Northampton on August 12, 14 and 16.
It is the former Collyer’s pupil’s first call-up to the international set up and the talented batsman will be hoping to use it as a stepping stone to becoming a full England international in the future.
This year’s Horsham Cricket Festival starts on Wednesday August 10 at Cricketfield Road when Sussex host Worcestershire in the County Championship before facing the same side in the CB40 on the Sunday - and YOU can be there for the whole event for FREE.
The County Times has paired up with Sussex CC to offer three lucky readers the chance to win a pair of tickets. Buy your copy of the West Sussex County Times on Thursday for details of how to win.
