Accurate bowling from Max McAteer and Jamie Adkins helped set Roffey under-12s on their way to a comfortable win against Ifield in the latest round of fixtures in the Identilam Colts Cricket League.

The pair, combined with some poor Ifield running, ensured Roffey only had to chase 76 for the win, despite an unbeaten 28 from Ifield’s Charlie Constable,

McAteer again led the way with the bat, scoring 15 in a solid partnership with Josh Dance (21 not out), as Roffey shruggled off the early loss of Callum Jeal to win with fiva balls to spare.

And in the final game of the night at Tanbridge House School, Roffey were emphatic winners against Lingfield, with McAteer again the star performer.

His figures of 2-10 included a spectacular catch off his own bowling, as Lingfield posted 50-5 off their ten overs, Conor Dickson’s 13 was their top score. In reply McAteer dominated, retiring on 21, while Dance’s unbeaten 14 offered ample support as Roffey won with six overs to spare.
