SIMON Shivnarain admits Roffey just can’t wait for Saturday’s game against Hastings & St Leonards Priory after their brilliant performance last weekend.
Promotion to the Sussex Premier League didn’t seem to have fazed Roffey as they succesfully chased the 222 that was set by opponents East Grinstead to win their opening game by five wickets.
Shivnarain said: “It’s a lovely ground at Hastings, and we just can’t wait to play. We need more of the same as last weekend; we were excellent in all areas of the game - batting, fielding and bowling.”
The batsman insists Roffey can take a lot of confidence from their last outing against Hastings.
“We beat them a few years ago in a 40 over game, so we know we can beat them. We have the ability to match anyone in this league, so we just have to play as well as we know we can,” he added.
