Feast of top cricket at Horsham
SUSSEX captain Chris Adams is targeting this week's County Championship match at Horsham as the place to re-ignite their faltering league campaign, in what is the 100th year of county cricket at the ground.
The current county champions play second-placed Somerset starting on Wednesday, and despite a recent ten wicket win over Hampshire at Arundel lie sixth.
But Adams believes the game could prove the turning point in their season.
"We always look forward to Horsham, personally it's been a good venue for me with the bat and also as a team it generally looks after us," he said.
"A win against Somerset would be fantastic and from that we hope to springboard on and get a run together."
Sussex beat Somerset Sabres in one of the games of the season in the Pro40 at Arundel last week, and Adams is anticipating another cracker when the two lock horns over four days at Horsham.
Sussex then take on Worcestershire Royals in the Pro40 at Cricketfield Road on Sunday, and another Sussex player itching for success is Horsham's Chris Nash.
Horsham first hosted Sussex in 1908 and a century later the club are busily preparing the ground once again.
With stars like Marcus Trescothick and Justin Langer ready to line up for Somerset they predict unprecedented numbers of fans will descend on the ground.
Among the marquees at Cricketfield Road during next week will be one dedicated solely to a new book celebrating a century of county cricket in Horsham.
