Sussex’s Chris Jordan has signed a new one-year extension to his contract, which will see him remain with Sussex Cricket until at least the end of the 2017 campaign.
The 27-year-old England seamer arrived at Sussex from Surrey ahead of the 2013 season and has since enjoyed a rapid rise to fame.
He took his best first-class figures of 6 for 48 on his Sussex debut against Yorkshire at Headingley, and currently has 110 scalps for Sussex in Championship cricket from 27 matches.
He has since played eight times in Test cricket for England, as well as 27 One-Day Internationals and 11 T20 Internationals, and is currently in India with his country as they prepare for an assault on the World T20.
Jordan - currently with the England squad at the World T20 - was capped by Sussex early on in the 2014 season, shortly before he made his Test debut against Sri Lanka at Lord’s. He toured again over the winter with England, featuring in both ODI and T20 cricket against South Africa.
He said of his new deal: “I’m absolutely thrilled to be extending my contract to stay longer at a club that I have grown to love and one that now feels like home.
I’m looking forward to putting in my best performances on the pitch, helping Sussex back into Division One and back to winning trophies.

Sussex’s Head Coach Mark Davis said, “CJ is a vital member of our team and balances us in all formats of the game. His all-round ability as a fast bowler, destructive batsman and brilliant catcher makes him a key member of our team at Sussex.
“I’m thrilled he has extended his contract and look forward to him making vital contributions to winning games for the club.”
