Bowlers dominated as Nuthurst completed a fine win against long-standing adversaries The Royal National Theatre on Sunday.
Batting first at Mannings Heath, Nuthurst struggled, reaching just 17-2 in the first hour against Enzo Nicoli who took 2-0 in his first nine overs. It took a fine stand between Vacher (33) and Jonny Willis (50) to accelerate the scoring, before late bursts from Buzz McKenna (25) and Bob Weston, who flailed a couple of boundaries saw them to 156-8.
They feared it was a small total, but bowled with fire. Keith Greenwood (4-13) and Graham Prior (3-10) struck in their first overs at the Theatres were soon 14-3.
Some spectacular efforts in the field, including a stunning catch at third slip from Willis and a full length dive from Will Morris, kept Theatres on the back foot as they were dismissed for just 62.
