Billingshurst won’t be getting ahead of themselves despite turning over the league leaders Middleton last weekend.

The dream of playing Premier League cricket is very much in their hands after a 62-run win, but captain Ben Williams has ruled out title talk.

They closed the gap on Middleton to 38 points and Williams said: “We are still looking at second spot. It helps that the gap is getting smaller, if they mess up a couple of times it leaves one more promotion spot, but we are not looking to be champions – we are just looking to go up.

“Our last four games are against lower-ranked teams, but Worthing this weekend is a huge game. Again we will be looking to beat them, but it has got to the stage that we do not have to look at victory, a draw would do, but obviously we will be wanting to win.

Billingshurst’s bowling attack will be weakened on Saturday with Williams and Andy Barr both unavailable.
