Horsham CC leg spinner Will Beer has signed a new two-year contract at Sussex which will see him remain at the PROBIZ County Ground until at least the end of the 2014 season.

The 24 year old, who has come through the youth ranks at Horsham played in ten of Sussex Sharks’ Friends Life t20 matches last season taking eight wickets.

He also featured in seven CB40 games, claiming nine wickets with a best of 3-27 in the crucial clash with Warwickshire Bears.

“It is a fantastic honour for me to sign a new two-year contract with Sussex,” said Beer, who also starred for Horsham as they again finished Sussex Premier runners up last season.

“I have grown up playing my cricket with Sussex and I am looking forward to the challenges ahead and hopefully contributing towards winning trophies for this Club.”

Sussex’s coach Mark Davis said: “Will has steadily improved year upon year and it is great from a club perspective that he has signed a new contract.

“Hopefully this will allow him to develop further and develop into the complete player we think he can be.”
