YOUNG Arsenal fan Archie Fitzsimmons enjoyed the thrill of a lifetime when he led the Gunners out at The Emirates.

Eight-year-old ‘Junior Gunner’ Archie was the official mascot for Sunday’s premier League clash against Manchester United, and although the match finished with a 2-1 defeat, Archie, from Horsham, was delighted to meet his heroes.

Archie got to meet the entire Arsenal team, including captain and goal scorer on the day, Robin van Persie. He also bagged players’ autographs and a smart new Arsenal kit too.

Archie was clearly delighted to have been selected: “It was just brilliant to have been chosen. Meeting the whole teem was amazing and I had a great day, even though we lost the game unfortunately.”

Sue Campbell, manager of the Junior Gunners said: “We were delighted to offer Archie the chance to be our mascot for the Man United game.

“This is one of the many occasions throughout the year where our Junior Gunners get the opportunity to meet their heroes, and it is always a memorable day.”
