HORSHAM YMCA players and staff past and present came together to celebrate John Suter's time as manager of the club with a surprise football match.

Believing he was attending a lunch appointment, Suter was 'gobsmacked' when he turned up to Storrington Football Club to find it filled with players and people connected with the club where he was at the helm for nearly two decades.

Former YM coach and player John Tewsley explained: "We all wanted to do a game for him because for whatever reason Horsham YMCA, for the 19 years that he was there, never did anything for him with regards to a testimonial.

"John's been part of our lives for the last 19 years, so we felt that it would be a great day for him and the general consensus from players who we were in contact with said they would love to be involved."
