A SAM Adams inspired Roffey won the Mirfield Cup with a nine wicket defeat of Billingshurst at Horsham Cricket Club last night.

Hurst were gunning for their third successive final win in the 15 eight ball over competition, but Taraia Robin's knock of 41 and Scott Stratton's late 26 were the main highlights as they scored 119/6, Will Ripley taking four of the wickets.

After losing the early wicket of Aaron Jeal Roffey's batsmen took control with Adams smashing seven fours and three sixes all over the ground for his 63, and supported by captain Josh Fleming who held his bat for 38, they cruised to victory with two overs to spare.
