SOUTHWATER driver Jolyon Palmer scored two podium finishes in the Formula Palmer Audi Championship at Snetterton last weekend

Palmer, 18, closed the gap on series leader Jason Moore thanks to the weekend's finishes and sits second in the table.

After qualifying third for race one, Palmer slipped past Jason Moore on the opening lap to secure second place. Although the pair later tangled at the Bomb Hole, forcing Moore into retirement, Jolyon continued to take a podium finish.

Palmer followed his second-place performance by battling with Sheffield teenager Richard Plant in the following two races. The pair swapped places several times before Palmer clinched third and fifth place finishes.

He said: "This weekend I've managed to close the gap on Jason in the championship and that remains my ultimate goal."
