FORMER Horsham striker Carl Rook came back to haunt his old club with a first half hat trick, as new side Tonbridge romped to a 4-0 win today.

Rook was on target with a penalty and pounced to score two more in the first 30 minutes as the Hornets endured a torrid time.

It didn't get much better for the visitors, but they did restrict Tonbridge to just one goal in the second half, that coming through Jamie Cade.

Lee Carey had Horsham's best attempt, working Lee Worgan from range in the second half.

Horsham have been playing the last few minutes with ten men, as Lee Carney has had to limp out of the game.

84 mins: Olurunda gets a good block in to deny Archibald on the penalty spot.

83 mins: Haddow needs treatment for a knock, he limps off, buts able to return to the action.

82 mins: Geddes heads into the side netting from Haddow's free kick.

80 mins: Storey rolls a weak shot into Seuke's arms, Tonbridge look to have found a second wind.

78 mins: Geddes sees his shot blocked by Leon Legge's face, and the big centre back doesn't even flinch.

76 mins: GOAL. If it wasn't all over before, it is now. Sub John Westcott swings in a peach of a cross for Jamie Cade to loop a header home.
Tonbridge 4-0 Horsham

74 mins: Booking. Rook sees yellow for Tonbridge after a trip on Carey.

70 mins: Archibald's near post flick is well held by Worgan.

67 mins: Lee Carey's ambitious effort on the volley is just tipped over - is there still life in this game?

Shane Graham is offering something more of an outlet on the right for the Hornets, but nothing has come of it.

Tonbridge are still controlling the tempo and are happy to stroll through the rest of the game.

62 mins: Horsham sub. Lee Farrell off, Gavin Geddes on.

57 mins: Slightly more encouraging signs for the Hornets, Lee Farrell gets in behind and tries to pick out Archibald at the far post.

56 mins: Still the chances come for the hosts, Kirk Watts crosses for Fraser Logan, who heads just wide.

53 mins: It's a small chink of light possibly? Alex Haddow picks out Arichbald, and the striker screws an early shot widce.

Any hope Horsham could force their way back in with an early goal looks slim, with Tonbridge still comfortable.

49 mins: Michael Phillips goes into the book for a bit of back chat.

It's been a sedate start to the second period - only one change, Shane Graham on for Jack Page, Lee Carey has gone to right back.

HORSHAM have suffered one of their most horrific first 45 minutes in recent memory, trailing Tonbridge Angels 3-0 at the break.

Former Hornet Carl Rook bagged a hat trick for the Angels as Horsham struggled to get to grips with their hosts for the opening half hour.

It will be interesting to see how the Hornets use the wind at their backs in the second half - and they will look to Evan Archibald to cause the kind of havoc Rook has.

'We're gonna win 4-3' is the chant from the away end, at least Horsham have stemmed the flow.

39 mins: A decent move by the visitors sees Jacob Mingle play Lee Farrell in, but his first time shot flies into the roof of the stand.

36 mins: Lee Carey has Horsham's first attempt on goal, shooting straight at Lee Worgan

34 mins: Horsham sub. Andy Howard off, Lee Carney on - desperate times call for desperate measures.

32 mins: Lewis Hamilton charges into the box to get on the end of Rook's lay back, but shoots over.

30 mins: GOAL. It is becoming a massacre. Rook completes his hat trick. Slipped through by Logan, the striker shoots between Seuke's legs.

Tonbridge 3-0 Horsham

28 mins: Three men line up to put Olurunda's cross away. but Fraser Logan shoots weakly at Seuke.

22 mins: GOAL. Howard gets caught under a long ball, Carl Rook runs on to it and slots a cool finish past Paul Seuke.
Tonbridge 2-0 Horsham.

In fairness to Maggs' men, Tonbridge have a howling gale at their backs, but Horsham need to get some kind of foothold into the game.

17 mins: Seuke tips Olurunda's curling cross onto the bar.

16 mins: Seuke gets down well to keep out Jamie Cade's effort and a secxond goal is very much on the cards.

15 mins: A good block by Billy Franks denies Carl Rook's flick after a flowing Tonbridge move.

It's looking bleak here at a windswept Longmead, the Hornets are struggling to string together many passes and the hosts are springing forward at pace.

12 mins: Rook turns Andy Howard inside out and hits a low cross through a sea of legs, which Storey blasts over from six yards.

9 mins: Booking. Lee Carey sees yellow - presumably for dissent.

7 mins: GOAL Carl Rook scuffs the spot kick, but sends Paul Seuke the wrong way. Tonbridge 1-0 Horsham.

6 mins: PENALTY. Tim Olurunda is tripped in the box by Alex Haddow, Carl Rook steps up, and after some gamesmanship Jacob Mingle is booked.

Horsham's first decent spell of pressure peters out after a loose pass but they appear to have weathered the early storm.

Tonbridge have stormed out of the blocks and have had all the early pressure, two corners and two free kicks already.

1 min. Early free kick from Tonbridge skipper Anthony Storey is deflected behind.

HORSHAM return to league action today at Tonbridge, desperate to end a miserable run of results.

The Hornets are without a Premier Division win since August, and will up against some familiar faces today.

Tonbridge are managed by former coach Tommy Warrilow, and feature ex-striker Cark Rook in their starting line up, while John Westcott and Chamal Fenelon are on the bench.

Horsham: Paul Seuke; Jack Page, Russell Eldridge, Andy Howard, Billy Franks; Mark Knee, Jacob Mingle, Lee Carey, Alex Haddow; Evan Archibald, Lee Farrell.
Subs: Michael Dale, Shane Graham, Gavin geddes, Lee Carney, Rob Frankland.

Tonbridge: Lee Worgan, Lewis Hamilton, Simon Glover, Michael Phillips, Leon legge, Tim Olurunda, Fraser Logan, Anthony Storey, Jamie Cade, Carl Rook, Kirk Watts.
Subs: John Westcott, Phil Starkey, Tommy Tyne, Chamal Fenelon, James Donovan.
