HORSHAM maintained their 100 per cent start to the season with a 2-0 win at home to Heybridge Swifts today.

Evan Archibald and Lee Carney made it three wins from three for John Maggs' men, in a match largely devoid of incident. Carney sealed the win in the 79th minute when he smashed home Alex Haddow's pass, to add to Archibald's first half header.

Heybridge were poor opposition, and any attempt to put Hoprsham under pressure were distainfully swatted away by the imperious Sam Page.

87 mins: It's taken until now, but the game is coming to life - Haddow jinked inside his man and then fizzes a right footed effort just over.

86 mins: Patient football from the home team results in Charman's header going wide.

83 mins: Booking. Hull goes into the book for a trip on Mark Knee, and Carey lines up the ree kick......which Carey curls narrowly over.

79 mins: GOAL. That should wrap up the win. Alex Haddow's clever pass splits the Heybridge defence, and Carney is nicely placed to slam home the finish from six yards.

77 mins: Horsham sub. Evan Archibald off, Shane Graham on.

Someone's just compared Lee Carey to Deco, I'm sure Horsham's number seven would be flattered!

Horsham are pressing forward again, but this game is urgently in need of some kind of inspiration.

69 mins: Heybridge sub. Ellis Remy off, Reggie Savage on - remember him?

65 mins: Just to show how precarious a one goal lead is, no matter how dominant your are, Ellis Remy almost gets a toe end on Ryan Hull's ball into the box.

62 mins: Jack Page lines up an effort from 20 yards which only just wide of the post.
Horsham sub: Liam Baitup off, Mark Knee on.

Another goal would be perfect now, we've hit a bit of a brick wall as far as action is concerned.

55 mins: Lee Carey stings Ollie Moors Sanders' hands with a sharp shot.

53 mins: Good goalkeeping from Seuke, as he drives at the feet of Swifts skipper Robbie King, who had held off the attentions of Carey.

Very similar pattern to the first 45 in this half so far, Horsham on the front foot, but just lacking that certain spark at times.

46 mins: Heybridge scramble clear when Liam Baitup reaches the by-line and slides a ball across goal.

Horsham are unchanged going into the second half, while Heybridge have swapped Reece Morgan for Nathan Clarke.

EVAN Archibald's 38th minute header has given Horsham a 1-0 half time lead in their home game against Heybridge Swifts today.

The Hornets have been the better side throughout, with Heybridge offering very little to trouble the hosts' defence.

But for all their possession, Horsham only have Archibald's strike to celebrate.

45 mins: Liam Baitup will be kicking himself for not making it 2-0. Jack Page drilled in a fizzing low ball, which somehow evaded Baitup's attempts to get on the end of it.

42 mins: A rare moment of concern for Horsham, Mark Reddaway's weak shot is easily held by Seuke.

41 mins: Gary Charman thrusts into the heart of the Swifts, but his shot is scuffed a bit along the deck.

38 mins: GOAL. And it finally clicks for the hosts. Alex Haddow pops up on the right wing, and Evan Archibald nods home his cross at the far post.
Horsham 1-0 Heybridge Swifts.

34 mins: Carey's arcing pass just fails to fall for Baitup, and that's been the story of the half.
Heybridge are playing today, I promise, it's just none of them have done anything.

32 mins: Booking. Gary Charman sees yellow - it was more of a tangle of legs when he clashed with Danny Kerrigan, all the same, he's in the book.

29 mins: Sam Page takes advantage of what looks to be a pretty ordinary Swifts midfield to stride forward, but the move breaks down.

26 mins: Charman ties his man up in knots on the right wing, but drags his left foot shot into the side netting.
Heybridge really need to get a foothold into this to make it a game.

23 mins: The Hornets concede a free kick in a dangerous posotion, but Paul Seuke is imperious in the air.

20 mins. The first real clear chance of the match - Carey's hanging cross lands on Gary Charman's head at the far post, but his effort is planted into Morris Sanders' grateful hands.

18 mins: Russell Eldridge whips in a free kick which Ollie Morrs Sanders comfortably collects in the Swifts goal, no repreat of his strike against Staines then.

Looks like the two Lees, Carey and Carney are forging a good partnership, Carey fetching and carrying, and Carney supporting the front two.

15 mins: Archibald is involved, and puts his height to good use, his flick almost lets Lee Carney in for a chance.

So far the Hornets are not missing Eddie French, Howard has attempted the odd sprayed pass, and with Jack Page picking out Alex Haddow on the left Horsham can spring forward with pace and accuracy.

9 mins: The pitch here is looking lush with both sides playing some neat stuff, Liam Baitup links well with strike partner Archibald, but slices well wide.

3 mins: Now Lee Carney is treated for a knock - not much else of note to tell you so far.

1 min: Evan Archibald and Frank Everett need treatment after a sickening clash of heads, both should be ok to continue though.

Andy Howard replaces the injured Eddie French in the only change in the Horsham side from Wednesday's 2-1 wina against Staines.

Horsham: Paul Seuke, jack Page, Russell, Andrew Howard, Sam Page, Lee Carney, Lee Carey, Gary Charman, Alex Haddow, Evan Archibald, Liam Baitup.

Subs: Mark Knee, Shane Grahame, Matthew White, Ian Payne, Rob Frankland.

Heybridge: Ollie Morris-Sanders, Ryan Hull, Danny Kerrigan, Robbie King, Frank Everett, Mitchell Nelson, Jamie Wright, Billy Hawes, Mark Reddaway, Ellis Remy, Reece Morgan.

Subs: Reggie Savage, Will King, Adam Rushen, Nathan Clarke, George Lay.
