NIGEL Brake says he would be a 'fool' to turn turn an offer to play in the Conference Premier.

This week, Horsham boss John Maggs revealed Brake was among four players that Conference South champions Lewes were interested in signing.

And although the left back has had no direct contact with the Rooks, he is 'flattered' by the attention.

He was targeted by the club at the end of last seaosn, but elected to remain at Queen Street.

He said: "To be honest it is flattering that they have thought of me.

"I have not spoken to anyone at the club, but I have been told of their interest. I would have thought i would be one of the last people they would be interested in.

"I would be interested in testing myself at that level, I would be a fool to say no. I'm 30 years old now.

"I am happy at Horsham are there are no problems there but the Conference is the pinnacle of non league football, however at the moment I am still a Horsham player."
