HORSHAM manager John Maggs said he was delighted with his new-look strike force after watching a 4-2 win against Canvey Island today.

Evan Archibald grabbed a brace, while fellow debutant Liam Baitup also netted. Lee Carney added another while Chris Moore and Jay Curran scored Canvey's two goals.

Maggs commented: "I'm delighted with it. It was always going to be a hard game in hard conditions. The pitch was excellent, but the wind made it tricky.

"Everyone did their jobs and everone was responsible for their performance.

"To go 4-1 up, it was a thoroughly professional performance, but their second goal took the edge off that.

"Last year we shared the goals out among the midfielders more, so it's nice for the top two to get on the scoresheet early on."
