Dover Athletic 2
Wallis 77, 86

Horsham 1
Mingle 38

HORSHAM were sunk by two wonder strikes late on from midfielder Jon Wallis after Jacob Mingle's first half goal looked like being enough to record a determined win.

After an even first half The Hornet's were forced to defend for much of the second half, but were undone by two 25 yard bullets by Wallis in the 77th and 86th mintute.

Horsham's back four sustained heavy pressure and dealt with it well while Gary Charman's snap shot midway through the second half was the best they managed, but in the end Horsham could do nothing to stop the goals.

90 (+1): Horsham are trying to get it forward but without joy at the moment. There will be three minutes of extra time.

90 mins: Seuke pulls off two saves in a minute. First he denies Collin fron point blank range after the striker had nutmegged Howards in the box, and then Hughes who dummied two defenders and struck a shot with his left foot.

86 mins: GOAL FOR DOVER: Wallis breaks Horsham hearts with another brilliant strike, this time from a free kick at least 30 yards out. He drove it throught the wall and just beyond the despairing reach of Seuke to rattle the back of the net.

86 mins: Horsham will be happy to keep the ball in the Dover half. They are not creating any thing but are managing to keep it out of the danger areas to keep the crowd quiet.

82 mins: Danger for Horsham as Frannie Collin wriggles past a couple of challenges and gets into the box, but Eldridge is there to tackle and clear the ball.

80 mins: It's all Dover at the moment. A scrappy few moments in the box results in the ball coming over for Craig Cloke to hit on the bounce and slice wide from 5 yards. Horsham are looking a little ragged at the back, it might be backs to the wall for the last 10 minutes.

77 mins: GOAL FOR DOVER. Jon Wallis with a wonder strike from 25 yards. Sam Jones cuts in again from the right and lays the ball back to Wallis, who drives the ball into the corner. No chance Seuke.1-1

75 mins: Charman with Horsham's best chance of the half. From a flicked on throw in he shoots into the ground and it loops up, but Whitehouse manages to tip it over the bar.

71 mins: Substitute Sam Jones runs at Payne down the right, he cuts onto his right foot and shoots low, but Seuke gets there. Horsham fans will remember Sam Jones from scoring the winner against Horsham for Ramsgate last season.

68 mins: Nice play by Knee. He's continuing to work tirelessly for the Horsham caus upfront. He holds the ball up for Carney, who lobs the ball to Jack Page on the right but the defender covers.

66 mins: Dover Sub. Winger Sam Jones comes on for John Keister. Dover are looking to go for broke by taking off their defensive middle man.

62 mins: Dover force two corners. Howards puts the first out to safety, and Seuke comes out well to clear the ball and two players in the same motion.

It's all fairly tame at the moment which will suite Horsham. Shaun Welford's first touch lets him down on the edge of the box, and similarly Mingle gives it away in the centre.

59 mins: Yellow card for Horsham. Gary Charman goes into the book for a late diving challenge. He can't have too many complaints.

58 mins: Lee Carney gets a stern word from the ref after barging Craig Cloke off the ball and reacting angrily to the free kick being given.

55 mins: Nice pass from Jack Page on the right to find Carney racing down the left, but his control lets him down.

52 mins: Sammy Moore hits the post from 25 yards. He was so unlucky not to score. It came from another corner played to him on the edge, he took a touch and then drilled it only to see it rebound off the inside of Seuke's far post - he was well beaten. Horsham will need to be aware of that corner.

51 mins: Lee Carney has a pop from 40 yards which drifts just over the bar.

48 mins: Ian Payne is given a baptism of fire by Frannie Collin down the Dover left. He skips passed him twice before Howard comes in to help, but he evades him as well and crosses passed Seuke, but Mingle is on the line to clear the danger.

Sub for Dover: Jerahl Hughes comes on for Andy Hessenthaler.

Sub for Horsham: Ian Payne comes on for Alex Haddow. Jack Page moves to right wing.

HALF TIME: JACOB Mingle's goal on 38 minutes separates the two teams at the break in what has been a very even first 45 minutes of football.

Dover have had the better chances but failed to convert them, while Horsham have been competing well all over the pitch and made no mistake with their best chance.

Paul Seuke has been excellent once again in the Hornets goal, and Horsham will hope he is not called upon too often in the second half.

45 (+1) mins: Cheers from the Hornets fans as Dover captain John Keister's shot from 30 yards goes a mile over the crossbar.

44 mins: Horsham show some nice football after being somewhat fortunate with a touch off the ref. Mingle knocks it to Charman, who feeds Haddow playing on the right, but his cross is headed away by a defender.

42 mins: Shaun Welford goes very close with a header after Sammy Moore whipped in a dangerous ball from the right. It's very evenly match here

41 mins: Howard has to leave the pitch after being barged into by one of the Dover strikers. He's only off for a minute before coming back on.

38 mins: GOAL FOR HORSHAM. Mingle marks his return with a well taken goal. Nice one-two with Carney slips his into the area, Mingle takes a touch to steady himself before stroking it into the far corner.

36 mins: Great little turn and shot from Mark Knee. He beats his defender and unleashes a fierce shot from 40 yards which Whitehouse just manages to tip over the bar

33 mins: Haddow does well to knick the ball off Ollie shultz after his slip, he shows determination to get to the byline but his cross is put behind by a defender. The corner is easy for Whitehouse.

30 mins: Great save by Seuke to deny Andy Hessenthaler. It was good work down the left from Collin, he cut it back to Hessenthaler who could only shoot at Seuke from 10 yards. The resulting corner is put into the net by Dean Hill, but the whistle had gone long before for a push. The supporters behind the goal are getting louder.

26 mins: Alex Haddow is fouled on the right just outside the area. Carey takes the free kick but it's blocked by the defender.

23 mins: Sammy Moore should have put Dover ahead, he's put through by Jon Wallis but his shot is weak from just inside the box and Seuke saves comfortably.

21 mins: Sammy Moore is allowed too much space to run at goal, he unleashes from 16 yards low along the floor which Seuke manages to keep out.

15 mins: Mistake at the back from Sam Page to let the ball drop over his head and land at the feet of Jon Wallis, but he makes amends by blocking the cross. Russell Eldridge clears off the line to prevent a goal. The corner is played to Frannie Collin waiting on the edge of the area and he strikes viciously at goal, but Eldridge is on the post to keep it out.

12 mins: Frannie Collin is slipped through on the left but there's an uproar from the Dover crowd as the linesman gives him offside. The four Dover midfielders are incredably short, they look like they should be playing youth football. But according to the Dover reporter next to me they are the best midfield in the league.

8 mins: Charman and Eldrdge combine well down the left but Eldridge is muscled out by the defender who puts it out for a throw in.

No chances in the first six minutes, Dover look like a similar sort of team who like to pass it around. It's pretty tight at the moment.

2 mins: Jacob Mingle introduces himself with a typically bullish challenge to win the ball, which comes of the Dover player and out for a goal kick.

1 mins: Craig Cloke rises to connect with a free kick on the right but it was just above him and he doesn't test Seuke in the Horsham goal.

Dover kick off with Horsham playing from right to left in their traditional yellow and green strip.

JACOB Mingle makes his first start of the season in a five man midfield as joint top scorer Evan Archibald fails a late fitness test on a dead leg and starts from the bench.

Mark Knee will lead the line as the lone front man as Liam Baitup drops to the bench, Jack Page is passed fit and starts at right back.

Horsham will be hoping to bounce back after last Saturday's disappointing result against Harlow, but face a real test against Premier new boys Dover Athletic.
