HORSHAM boss John Maggs says Monday's emphatic 5-1 win against Carshalton Athletic will send a ripple through the Ryman Premier Division.

Goals from Lee Carey, although claimed by Gary Charman, and one each also for Charman, Mark Knee, Russell Eldridge and Liam Baitup scured a 5-1 win at Carshalton.

The hosts had been scoring goals for fun and like Horsham had a 100 per cent record, but were outclassed by the Hornets, and Maggs paid tribute to his men after the game.

"Everyone here thought we were going to get beat today," he remarked.

"But we defended brilliantly, especially when we were under pressure with people throwing themselves in front of the ball.

"Then, in the second half our movement was supberb and our work rate was absolutely top notch.

"The result will send ripples up and down the league."
