IT IS not every day pupils get to celebrate their head teacher's 13th birthday.

Yet this is the case in one Washington school thanks to the leap year.

Windlesham House School head teacher Richard Foster is finally celebrating his transition to teenage years today.

Born on February 29 1956, Mr Foster has waited a long time to become a teenager.

"No-one ever forgets my birthday," exclaimed 52 year old Mr Foster.

"Ever since I was able to remember birthdays it has always been very special.

"I have always had a party for everybody of my age at which ever school I have been in."

This year all the 13 year old pupils in the Washington school are celebrating the landmark with a birthday tea party.
