THE eastbound carriageway of the A27 at Shoreham has been closed following an accident.
Officers from the Road Policing Unit were called to the scene at 7.15pm tonight (Friday, November 28) after a car lost control and hit the central reservation.

Sergeant Neil Walker said the Saab car ended up facing the wrong way in the outside lane of the road, shortly after the Holmbush turnoff.

He added two further crashes were caused as a result of cars trying to avoid the crashed vehicle.

Sgt Walker said: "Fortunately nobody was hurt, but officers are still on the scene trying to sort out the mess."

In the meantime, cars are being diverted off at the Holmbush turnoff, which is causing delays.
