YOUNGSTERS at a local playgroup enjoyed a visit by firefighters.
The playgroup, at Quayside Youth Centre, Upper Kingston Lane, Southwick, was visited by a crew from Shoreham fire station.

After being split into two groups, the children got to play with a fire engine, squirt the hose, listen to a story about the dangers of playing with matches and dress up in the firefighters' helmets.

"The children really enjoyed it," said playgroup supervisor, Susan Jackson.

"They were listening to everything the firefighters were saying and taking it all in visually."

Quayside Youth Centre reopened in April this year after being gutted by a blaze in March, 2005.
