CHILDREN at Buckingham Park Primary, Shoreham, have celebrated the opening of their school.
All the pupils helped plant trees and shrubs to mark the occasion.

"We are working very hard to develop the outside environment and this was a wonderful experience for the children," said head teacher Louise Swann.

Peter Griffiths, cabinet member for education and skills, cut a blue ribbon to officially open the school, helped by one of the oldest pupils in the school, Mark Merritt, and one of the youngest, Maisie Wickens.

All the pupils and guests listened to a performance by the choir and were addressed by Mr Griffiths and Keith Tulley, chairman of governors for the school.

A representative from each class also read out their wish for the new school, all of which will be put into a time capsule.
