We are no longer a Christian country

Not that long ago, the Church of England was known colloquially as ‘The Conservative Party At Prayer’. It seems bizarre that within such a relatively short period of time both symbols of traditional English values are now in suicidal mode over the thorny issue of gay rights.

Little wonder that according to the latest Census, the number of individuals claiming to be Christian has fallen - over a period of just ten years - by 4m to 33.2m - whilst the number describing themselves as ‘Atheist’ has doubled. Clearly, we are no longer a Christian country.
