Watering hole is part of our history

All along the South Downs Way there are ancient ‘dew ponds’ once vital for numerous flocks of sheep.

Today, ever increasing numbers of walkers, cyclists and tourists predominate, so it is a great pity to hear of the premature closure of such an historic and favourite watering hole as the Black Horse pub in Amberley.

The short-sighted thirst of a developer should not be allowed to take precedence over those who should wish to run it as a pub.
