Thoroughly enjoyable

ON MARCH 30, governors and parents of Year 4 at Arunside School in Horsham were invited to an end of topic celebration of VE Day.

We were entertained with a play highlighting what it was like to be evacuated, and caught in an air raid, and the pupils then sang a medley of wartime songs.

Afterwards we were treated to a delicious tea, prepared by the pupils, staff and families.

Every pupil took part, and were word perfect. When speaking to the pupils afterwards it was obvious they had really enjoyed the topic, and spoke confidently about the research they had done, and the information they had used.

On display were their topic books and models of Anderson shelters, again of a very high standard.

The hard work of the pupils, and the staff behind the scenes led to a thoroughly enjoyable afternoon, and on behalf of the governors and parents I would like take this opportunity to publicly congratulate and thank them.
