Thanks to readers for Business of Year votes

ON BEHALF of everyone from Stay Safe Driving School, I would like to say a heartfelt THANK YOU to all the County Times readers who voted for us in the ‘Readers Choice Business of the Year Award’. Your votes led us to a highly emotional victory, and to top it all off, we also won the ‘Community Contribution’ award, which made for a phenomenal evening at the recent County Times Business Awards.

We are all extremely grateful to everyone who took the time to vote for us and who, in doing so, recognised the vital road safety message we work hard to convey to young people and their parents. If we can prevent just one young person in our community losing their life in a road collision, then we are on our way to reaching our goal.

As a West Sussex firefighter I see all too often how local families are affected following a road traffic accident which, had the driver had the correct skill and knowledge, may never have happened. As a dad I genuinely can’t imagine anything worse.

Together as a community we can stop these senseless and preventable deaths, simply by getting the message across to young people that the road must be respected and that driving is a skill which needs to be taken very seriously. By voting for Stay Safe you have helped us promote this message all the more and we owe you a sincere thank you. I’d also like to take this opportunity to thank South Lodge for their sensational food and first class hosting. Of course, the County Times deserves a huge thank you, for running the awards and giving local businesses a unique chance to shine.
