Team fundraising for worthy cause

Friends of mine are raising money for Children with Cancer UK.

David Kirkham from Shottermill, Horsham, is raising money for Children with Cancer UK who are celebrating their 25th anniversary year this year.

David set up Team Kirkham as he was keen to raise money for this charity, close to his heart. His team includes his wife Jane and friends Tracey and Paul Edwards from Winterbourne in Horsham.

All four started their fundraising by running the Chichester 10k Race in February, are due to run the Hastings half marathon on March 24 and David will complete the fundraising by running in the London Marathon on April 21.

In addition David has organised a Race Night evening for 128 people to be held at The Holbrook Club on Saturday March 9 and this includes an auction for some fantastic prizes including four hospitality tickets for a Chelsea Football match and vouchers from local restaurants The London Curry House and Cote in Horsham. Tickets are sold out.

The team have been training four times a week since New Year’s Day. By the time David gets to the London Marathon, he will have completed the same distance in training miles as from Horsham to Edinburgh.

So far the team have raised £1,018 and further donations can be made online at
