Supportive of proposed move

I noted that you are soliciting views on the story on page seven of the County Times Horsham edition of January 24 regarding the post office in Southwater.

We have already contacted the Post Office in the public consultation process indicating our support for the proposed change in location of the post office in Southwater.

In 2007-8 we suffered a period when the post office failed and was closed for several weeks in Southwater.

This caused a great upheaval for both small businesses, which are so much a life blood of village enterprise, and domestic customers alike.

We do not want a repeat of this and have therefore given our support for a change that is sustainable in the long term.

We are less concerned as exactly where it is located. So we are supportive of the proposed move from Lintot Square to the Londis store in Worthing Road.

With the move comes the prospect of extended opening hours for postal services providing service seven days a week.

We wish Mr Shingadia good fortune in this endeavour.
