Profit over public welfare

THE COUNCIL has shown its true intentions of placing profit over public welfare with the decision to close Broadbridge Heath Leisure Centre.

The facilities at the Pavilions (especially parking) are already stretched to breaking point and would not be able to accommodate the additional numbers, especially when the new houses are built.

It is questionable whether the same decision would have been made, had the facility not been located in such a prime building location.

With the Government criticising overzealous building without adequate infrastructure development it is hard to see how a decision to remove such a valuable and well-used public resource can be justified.

It will be a travesty if any council members who voted for this keep their seat at the next local elections.
