My rejection of Christianity

Have your say

Unlike Stephen Garrish, I started church-going and Sunday School attendance early in life (‘It’s never too late for faith’, County Times, October 4, page 38).

But unanswered questions, preposterous claims, gruesome doctrines and the historical record led me to reject Christianity.

Well-intentioned friends assured me that in my twilight years the realisation of mortality would bring me back to faith.

Now in my mid-80s, I am even more convinced of the falsity of religion than I was when a teenager.
